WELCOME TO SEEKING SOLITUDE

Years ago, I took my Black Lab, Buddy, on his first camping trip. He pouted when it was time to go home—and I think that was the moment we both realized we had found something special. From that day on, camping became our thing. We traveled far and wide with our other pup, Belle, first in a big trailer, then in a tiny teardrop that took us on countless adventures.

Buddy has since passed, and Belle is slowing down, but the journey isn’t over.

Now, I’m building out a 2023 Ford Transit Trail into a full-time camper van—one bolt, panel, and decision at a time. Seeking Solitude is where I’ll share that process: the highs, the headaches, the gear, and everything I learn along the way. Once the build is complete, the real journey begins again—cross-country road trips, national and state park visits, and maybe even trading my house for the open road.

This isn’t the usual van life story. I work full-time in downtown Detroit, so my path is a little different—but maybe that’s what makes it worth sharing.
